Weekend on the Piast Route

A truly unique time of the year! This weekend the Piast Route (the oldest and one of the most important cultural tourist trails in Poland) will bustle with life and allow its visitors to travel back in time to the era of the first Polish rulers, and even further – to explore the incredible world of legends and myths. From 22nd to 24th June 2018 you can visit numerous attractions in every object on the Piast Route, take part in historical fests, play medieval games and listen to tales and stories from early middle ages. Of course, there is a lot of fun and adventure through the whole year, however those three days enable visitors to combine many attractions and spend great time on the Route.

This year’s main topic is “Slavic rituals and legends”, so be ready to discover mythical tales and long-gone religions. Also date of our festival is very symbolic – the shortest night of the year, often called the night of Saint John, played a very important role in Slavic beliefs. It was said that then the mortal world was closer to the spirits and gods as never. During the Weekend on the Piast Route you would be able to witness some of the ancient customs and rituals associated with that unique night. Together we will travel to world of magical rites, talismans, herbs and pagan priests. But that’s not all! You will also meet medieval warriors and see them in battle, visit Slavic huts and taste medieval cuisine. Finally, there will be free walking trips in every major object on the Piast Route and around most of historical towns and cities.
