The Cistercian Loop is an ideal choice for those who are just beginning their kayaking adventure. The trail is short, making it ideal for a weekend family trip, though it can also be done in a single day. The route runs through lakes and canals of the Przemęt Landscape Park, passing through areas connected with the past activity of the Cistercians, who were renowned for their impressive hydraulic engineering. Paddling on the loop is not only an opportunity to commune with nature, but also to admire the landscape shaped by the work of monks over the centuries.
The Cistercian Kayak Loop is 34 km long and partially overlaps with the Lily of the Valley Kayak Trail along the lakes from Przemęckie Małe to Wieleńskie.
The trail begins behind the weir in Wieleń (Zaobrzański), and follows the Kaszczorski Canal, then the Southern Obra Canal to Lake Mochyńskie, and continues to the small Przemęcki Canal connected to Lake Przemęckie Małe. From there, you can return to Wieleń via the series of lakes of the Lily of the Valley Trail.
The Cisterian Loop is easy and has only a few short, non-arduous portages. You can complete it in a single day, but it’s better to plan it as a weekend trip, occasionally stepping out of the kayak to explore local sights. Additional attractions include the series of lakes with the Lily of the Valley Island and the observation tower near Lake Olejnickie.
