The wielkopolska.travel portal is administered by the Wielkopolska Tourism Organisation. We are an association whose aim is to promote Wielkopolska as an attractive tourist destination and a region worth visiting. We strive to build a strong brand for Wielkopolska as a diverse region with a coherent and recognisable image. We believe that a strong regional brand is the key to raising awareness of all local tourism products among a wider audience.

As an association, we bring together local and regional authorities (including the Self-Government of the Wielkopolska Region), tourism businesses (such as hotels and tour operators), local tourism organisations, as well as higher education institutions. We currently have almost one hundred members in total, and this number continues to grow. We operate on a non-profit basis, funded by membership fees, and allocate our entire budget to our statutory activities.

What do we do?

The Wielkopolska Tourism Organisation has been operating since 2004 and is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Throughout the years, we have used all available promotional tools – from participating in tourism fairs in Poland and abroad, through organising study visits for journalists and influencers, to publishing our own folders and brochures about the region. Naturally, we also strive to maintain a strong online presence, both through the wielkopolska.travel portal and on social media (links to our profiles can be found in the top right-hand corner of the page). In addition, we support the tourism industry in Wielkopolska, among other things by organising training sessions and conferences. We are also the host and organiser of the regional stage of the Best Tourism Product Competition – Polish Tourism Organisation Certificate.

Projects

Our largest projects include the development of the Great Loop of Wielkopolska, the development of the Piast Trail, as well as the expansion of the tourist information system in Wielkopolska. We also actively support the development of agritourism, railway tourism and water tourism in the region. Our ambitious plans for the future also include culinary tourism, which we hope will give everyone in Poland and beyond an appetite for Wielkopolska.
