Rezerwat Śnieżycowy Jar

Located north of Poznań, near a bend in the River Warta, the Snowflake Ravine Reserve is a truly unique place. Within an area of 2.89 hectares grows the spring snowflake, a delicate white flower that blooms en masse between March and April, creating spectacular carpets of flowers across the forest floor.

In the wild, the spring snowflake grows on mountain meadows, including in the Sudetes and the Carpathians. This has led to the assumption that it was planted here by human hands at the end of the 19th century. The reserve has existed since 1975, aiming to protect this unique site while also making it accessible to the public. The flowering period is a true celebration, attracting crowds of nature enthusiasts eager to witness this spectacle.

How to get there

Access to the reserve is possible only on foot, or for visitors using wheelchairs. Cycling and driving are not permitted. Visitors are advised to leave vehicles at one of the two car parks in the villages of Starczanowo and Uchorowo. Well-marked hiking trails lead from the car parks to the reserve.

The reserve is closed outside the spring season due to the nearby military training area.
